Dear Divine Mercy Families,
Happy Halloween! We are looking forward to tomorrow with all the excitement it provides. I hope to see many of you at Trunk or Treat. It starts at 4pm in the BA parking lot. The weather looks like it will be in the 40’s and dry, so it should be a fun time.
We welcome our theatre in residence program, StoryBook Theatre, next week. Students in grades 2-5 will have the opportunity to try out on Monday after school, and by Friday they will be ready for the show! I am always impressed by how much is done in a single week. Permission slips to have your child participate were due this week. If you have questions, please call the office.
As the calendar turns to November, we have an opportunity for service as we begin our annual Food Drive for St. Vincent DePaul. Students are asked to contribute non-perishable foods to this drive as we keep those less fortunate in our thoughts and prayers. Food collection begins on November 3rd. Thank you for your generosity!
November brings a much higher chance of cold weather with it. Please watch the forecast and make sure your child is prepared for outside play each day. We do not have extra coats, etc. to hand out so it is a great strategy to begin to teach your child to bring their gear. If it is warm, it is easy to take things off. It isn’t easy to find something to put on if you have not brought it. Thank you for your help with this.
We continue to prepare for our onsite visit for our accreditation with the Minnesota Non-Public School Accreditation Association (MNSAA). A group of teachers and administrators will be here November 18, 19, and 20th to observe and interview students, teachers, parents, and administration. They might approach you in the carline or while you wait to pick up or drop off your child. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with them as they work to validate our self-study. Once this visit is complete, we begin to work to prepare for our Lumen Accreditation this spring. Both visits will be valuable as we set our vision for the next 5-7 years in a new strategic plan.
With so much excitement, November will surely fly by and before we know it winter will be here. 😊
We live in HOPE-holding on to God’s promises everyday!
Mrs. Ashley
