Dear Divine Mercy Families,
The last week has brought on the chill of winter and reminds us that the cold is coming. Please remember to send your child with appropriate outer gear for the playground. It is windy and cold! We will wait to see when the snow begins to fly, but once it does students will need all their gear -boots, snowpants, coats, hats, and mittens. If we are lucky enough to get through Thanksgiving Break without measurable snow, then the rule goes into effect after that. Starting December 1st, there will be no exceptions.
Thank you for coming to conferences last week and spending time connecting with teachers. We are happy to begin second quarter. There is much to look forward to in the coming weeks as well.
Next week we celebrate Halloween. Students will be celebrating with class parties and costumes. I hope many of you are able to attend Trunk-or Treat from 4-6PM in the BA Parking Lot. It is a great opportunity to trick-or-treat in a safe space and enjoy the many creative trunks.
Staring the week of November 3rd, we welcome our theatre in residence program, StoryBook Theatre, for the week as students work to put on a play in a week. This is always a great time for our students and families.
November also brings another opportunity for service as we begin our annual Food Drive for St. Vincent DePaul. Students will be asked to contribute non-perishable foods to this drive as we keep those less fortunate in our thoughts and prayers. Watch for information coming home in classroom newsletters.
As the temperatures get colder, our spirits remain bright. We continue to thank God for all our blessings and work to share our light with others.
We live in HOPE-holding on to God’s promises everyday!
Mrs. Ashley
