Dear Parents-
Happy May Day! We begin this month in joy as we celebrate our mother, Mary, and the beginning of spring’s warmer weather. We rejoiced in the small miracle this morning of no wind at drop-off. It felt so warm!
We have begun to firm up some plans for the coming school year. You may have noticed that we have advertised three openings: Art, 4th Grade, and 1st Grade. Mrs. DeShane will be retiring this spring from teaching. We will wish her well and celebrate her time with us as we honor her service at the Spring Concert. With the resignation of Mrs. Roughton this winter, we have an open position in 4th grade to officially fill. Ms. Washburn has discerned a change in grade level placement and will be moving from 1st grade to kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year. This leaves an open position in 1st grade. I am gratified to see many qualified candidates for these positions. Please pray for faithful, qualified candidates.
Next week we look forward to BA FFA Ag Day on Thursday. Our students will be going through stations outside that will be set up and managed by the BA FFA students. It is always a fun ime for our students.
You should have received information about out Grandparents’/Special Person Day along with a permission slip. We need to know what your family plan will be. Students will be allowed to go home after the 10:30 AM concert with their grandparents or special visitors if you let them. Please get that information to your child’s teacher as soon as possible. Thank you.
Our spring concert will be held on May 14th. We will have a 10:30 AM performance as part of Grandparents’ Day and a 6:30 PM performance. We look forward to seeing you here.
If you haven’t done so already, please complete our school survey HERE. Your honest and thoughtful feedback will provide insight into what is going well and what we need to continue to work on. The information is part of the process for preparation for accreditation with the Minnesota Non-public School Accrediting Association. Continuous Improvement is an ongoing process in a school and we will develop a strategic plan that will guide our efforts over the next 5-7 years through this process. Thank you for helping us make Divine Mercy Catholic School the best it can be!
We will be welcoming a professional photographer to our school on Wednesday, May 7th and Thursday, May 22nd. We will be using the pictures to update our website and print articles to reflect the changes in our school. We are asking your help to ensure students are in the dress code best these days so that the pictures are as beautiful as possible. Thank you!
With God, All Things Are Possible!
